Welcome to ShowUp

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ShowUp mobile application. By using ShowUp, you agree to these Terms.

What ShowUp Is

ShowUp is a platform that connects new parents with their support network ("village") to request and offer help during the early parenting period. We facilitate connections — we don't provide the help ourselves.

Your Account

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account
• You are responsible for keeping your account secure
• You must be 18 years or older to use ShowUp
• One account per person, please

Being a Good Villager

ShowUp works because people show up for each other with kindness and respect. You agree to:

• Treat everyone with respect and kindness
• Only claim requests you intend to fulfill
• Communicate clearly if plans change
• Respect the privacy of families you're helping

What's Not Okay

Please don't:

• Use ShowUp for any illegal purpose
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Share false or misleading information
• Impersonate others
• Spam or send unsolicited messages
• Attempt to access others' accounts

Your Content

• You own the content you post (photos, requests, messages)
• You give ShowUp permission to display your content to other users
• You're responsible for what you post

Villages and Membership

• Parents control who joins their village
• Villagers can see requests from parents in their village
• Either party can end the village relationship at any time
• Be respectful when leaving a village

Requests and Claims

• Requests are informal asks for help, not legal contracts
• Villagers claim requests voluntarily
• ShowUp doesn't guarantee any request will be fulfilled
• You're responsible for your own safety when meeting in person

Important Disclaimers

• ShowUp is provided "as is" without warranties
• We don't verify the identity or background of users
• We're not responsible for interactions between users
• Use your own judgment when accepting help or meeting people

Limitation of Liability

ShowUp is not liable for:

• Actions of other users
• Loss of data
• Service interruptions
• Any damages arising from use of the service

Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You can also delete your account at any time through the app.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.
